Good News from A Great City Haverhill, MA
SADLY THIS CONCERT SERIES IS NO LONGER RUNNING
There’s more than sports and splash pads going on in Haverhill Parks this summer. The Heartbeat of Haverhill has heard first hand that summer sounds AWESOME as two music series blend the best of summer with music, friendship and the great outdoors….all for FREE on Thursday and Friday nights.
These series are brought to you in part or in full by the Haverhill Cultural Council. Did you know there was a city cultural council dedicated to bringing cultural opportunities to Haverhill throughout the year by presenting their own programs or providing grants to artists and performers? Check out their activities, or help to shape Haverhill’s cultural future by becoming a volunteer or council member http://www.mass-culture.org/Haverhill.
Thursday nights this summer head downtown to Washington Street and Riverfront Park overlooking the docks behind the TAP restaurant for the Make Some Noise series sponsored by the Haverhill Cultural Council. A variety of styles means there’s something for everyone – July 17 was ODAP Reggae and Piquante Soul Salsa and you can bet there was some dancin’ by the docks!
Make Some Noise – Rocks the docks
Then, on Friday nights, the Bradford Common Outdoor Music Series is anything but common. This series is also sponsored in part by the Haverhill Cultural Council. THOH easily weaved our way through hundreds of happy music appreciators, well behaved dogs, and picnic dinners spread over spacious Bradford Common for the opening concert of this series. This is a longer established series produced by its host Paul Prue and it has its own special charm and a chance to connect with your neighbors and meet the musicians. Bradford Common Outdoor Music Series captivates the common….
When overheated kids and adults alike pitch that all too common whine: “There’s nothing to do”, remember with both Make Some Noise and Bradford Common Outdoor Music Series sometimes the Blues are the cure for the summertime blues. So Thursdays and Fridays are covered, you just have to figure out what to do with the rest of the week…splash park anyone???
